New Elvis books this summer
Last week it was 45 years since Elvis’ performed four sell-out shows in Madison Square Garden in 1972. Well, this summer a new book Elvis at Madison Square Garden is published by the Follow That Dream Label and Flaming Star,
The book is written by publisher Pål Granlund who was there in June 1972 and met Elvis. There will be several photographs of this backstage meeting in the book, as well as many stunning shots of Elvis in performance and at the Press Conference at the New York Hilton before the concerts. The book comes with a bonus CD – an audience recording containing the opening night show, on June 9th 1972.
New books have also been announced from the Graceland Archives:
Elvis Presley’s Graceland: The Official Guidebook is the official tour book for the mansion and tells the story of its history along with with an extensive tour of the home and the attractions and exhibits. It also includes many rare artefacts.
Elvis Presley: Iconic Stagewear takes you on a up-close tour of Elvis’ famous stagewear collection.The new book features full-page, full-colour photography of Elvis’ wardrobe, including jumpsuits, as well as style details, original designer sketches and more.
And finally, The Candlelight Vigil takes a look back at at nearly 40 years of Elvis Week Candlelight Vigils, starting with the first Candlelight Vigil in 1978.
