A personal collection of one of Elvis’s close friends in the army days is up for sale. This was originally in the private collection of Sgt. William A. Norwood up until a decade ago now the current owner has placed it back in auction this week.

When Elvis arrived for for training at Foot Hood, Texas in March 1958 in was Sgt. Norwood who had the assignment of training private and they soon became friends.

The collection includes autographs, some really nice signed photos and lots of correspondence relating to Elvis and his girlfriend back in Memphis Anita Wood, plus some really interesting recordings, including a pair of unedited reference recordings for King Creole.
